These Terms and Conditions apply to any use of China Tour Star's services. Please read carefully the below Terms and Conditions before you (our dear Customer) make a reservation and purchase any tour or related products listed on ChinaTourStar.com. These Terms and Conditions contain important information concerning your right and responsibility and the right and responsibility of ChinaTourStar.com.
By accessing or using China Tour Star's services, you agree that you have read, understood, and agreed with the following “Terms and Conditions”. ChinaTourStar.com has the right to change the Terms and Conditions, in whole or in part, at any time with or without notice.
After submitting your inquiry, you will be provided with one-on-one professional services. Our travel consultants will help you plan your tour, provide professional advice and answer all your questions.
You will receive a confirmation email from us within 1-3 business days after submitting your reservation.
A voucher will be sent to you with all detailed itinerary information about your tour. For your convenience, the contact information of hotels and other information will be listed on the voucher.
Please print your voucher in advance and present it in to your guide on the arrival day. Kindly reminder: the voucher is your proof of purchase.
All the tour packages on this website are quoted in USD. If you choose to pay by credit card, we only can charge your credit card in RMB in China. ChinaTourStar.com currently uses the exchange rate of 1USD = 6.5 RMB. But ChinaTourStar.com will apply the latest exchange rate during your payment period, so the exchange rate may be more or less than the above rate. There will be 4% service charge for the transaction taken by banks and credit card processors.
A deposit payment of 10 % will be required at the point of confirmation of a tour/service with us. Balance payment is to be made more than 30 days before your arrival. Payment of the deposit indicates you have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions. For group reservations special payment conditions may apply.
Your booking will not be confirmed until the payment is received by ChinaTourStar.com and you receive a confirmation. ChinaTourStar.com accepts Bank Transfer, Credit Cards, Western Union, PayPal, WeChat Pay and Alipay.

After a Confirmation Invoice has been sent to you, we reserve the right to add a supplement to your travel prices in the event of an increase in the cost of the travel we supply you.
If final payment is not received by the due date, your reservation will be cancelled and a cancellation letter will be sent to you by e-mail. If you fail to check the cancellation letter, we are not responsible for your loss or inconvenience.
For our own and cardholders’ protection, we need time to confirm the security of the transaction if we receive a fraud alert or payment irregularity from the credit card processor. If your reservation is urgent and the requested service cannot be confirmed in a timely manner, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation.
A photocopy of Bank Slip or Credit Card Bill is required to send to us as your payment proof.
We regret that you have to cancel your trip, but we understand that sometimes these things happen. If you decide to cancel your trip, please send us a written cancellation by email. We will refund your fees within 15 business days of the day (by Beijing time) we receive your written cancellation in accordance with our cancellations and refund policy.
Please be aware the reservation process will start after your payment has been made. The cancellation fee will take effect once you submit your reservation. If your reservation can not be confirmed for any reason, we will issue a full refund without any additional charges. The cancellation fee will be charged according to the below policy. Please kindly note that the policy below will apply to most of the situations except: when certain items in the tour requires full payment for confirming and exceeding the cancellation fee stated below; when during local events times and supplier (hotels, airlines, etc.) policy changes so the actual cancellation fee exceeds the amount stated below; and etc.
Cancellation made 14 days prior to departure: 100 % refund of all monies you have paid except deposit. But all cost of Yangtze River Cruise and penalties from hotels, airlines and trains need to be paid by service user. All penalties will be listed one by one and send it to you by email.
Cancellation made between 7 to 13 days prior to departure: 90% refund of all monies you have paid except deposit. But all cost of Yangtze River Cruise and penalties from hotels, airlines and trains need to be paid by service user. All penalties will be listed one by one and send it to you by email.
Cancellation made between 3 to 6 days prior to departure: 50% refund of all monies you have paid except deposit. But all cost of Yangtze River Cruise and penalties from hotels, airlines and trains need to be paid by service user. All penalties will be listed one by one and send it to you by email.
Cancellation made between 2 to 0 days prior to departure: 100% of the tour cost is non-refundable.
No-show clients will be charged 100% of the tour cost.
*If we have issued airline tickets and entrance tickets, booked hotels and restaurants or other services to you and you choose to cancel them, then we will refund solely the amount of money China Tour Star reclaims from the third party.
* After your trip has started, we are unable to refund any fees if you do not wish to continue with the tour for any reason, or if you arrive early, arrive late, or miss your tour date.
*Please contact your travel consultant for refund policies for groups of 50 or more.
*In the event of force majeure, such as earthquakes, epidemics, etc., please contact your travel consultant immediately for the latest cancellation and refund policy.
* Deposit is non-refundable. But you could use it within 18 months.
Amendments made before or after your confirmation will be free from our side. Amendments before confirmation will be easily changed according to your requests, yet changes to your confirmed itinerary will depend on availabilities and there might be supplier fees charged by airlines, hotels, cruise operators, etc. We won’t charge any fee for making the changes on our part and will only pass on any extra costs involved in providing additional or alternative services. All changes including itineraries, arrival date, the number of people traveling and other arrangements of confirmed tour shall be advised to China Tour Star in time.
China Tour Star will not be responsible for risks and losses arising from any unauthorized extra service beyond our confirmed itinerary that the client requires from the local agent, local guide or the driver. But we will endeavor to help the clients solving the problems including chasing compensation when damage or loss occurs.
For the smooth operation of the tour, China Tour Star reserves the right to reject any person as a tour participant due to illegal or offensive behaviors, to make changes in the itinerary when it turns out to be necessary.
We have travel agent insurance only for the accident and we strongly recommend that you purchase full travel insurance from your country of origin.
In order to reduce your losses when you cancel your trip, we also have an optional “Cancel for Any Reason" Travel Insurance available to you.
1. This cancellation insurance is not mandatory. If you do not purchase cancellation insurance, please read and follow our cancellation and refund policy in detail.
2. If you decide to cancel your trip after purchasing this insurance, the insurance holder must notify us by email before the departure date. You will receive a full refund of all travel expenses without any reason.
3. Insurance refunds are only applicable to travel expenses, excluding international flights (including flights from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan).
It is your responsibility to have a valid passport, visa and other immigration requirements applicable to your itinerary. The valid period of the traveler’s passport should be more than 6 months. We do not accept any responsibility in the case of you being unable to travel due to not complying with any such requirements.
We are pleased to send you an invitation letter in our own format to help you apply for Chinese Visa after your confirmation.
China Tour Star is involved in booking hotel and air/train/cruise transportation for you. We will make every effort to coordinate with the airline, cruise line or the hotel to ensure that everything goes smoothly. However, China Tour Star shall not be responsible for any wrongful or negligent acts, omissions, or the failure of any equipment operated by any suppliers or any other parties that are not directly owned or controlled by us. Still, we guarantee that we will try our best to coordinate.
If the flights are cancelled in reason of force majeure, like extreme weather, natural disasters, political reasons, etc., we will do what we can to communicate with Airlines for arranging hotels, meals, next flight and such that should be followed according to airline policy. China Tour Star does not cover the expense for any extra service but will try its best to coordinate.
China Tour Star remains the right to change the estimated domestic flights in our proposal, and to change the estimated hotels in the itinerary to the same ranking hotel
The check-in time is 02:00 PM in most of the hotels, if you would like to check in early, it will be subject to hotel room availability, and will require extra charge for guaranteed rooms for early check in. The check-out time is 12:00 PM in most of the hotels, if you want to check out later, there will be extra charge for late check out. Different hotels will have different policy regarding early check in and late check out, please contact us for further information when this service is required.
Clients should consider the possible risks associated with international travel. If you have a health condition, please consult your physician prior to travel and inform us of your health status by email at the time of booking. We reserve the right to refuse any participant if we believe that the participant's health condition may affect the safety and health of other participants.
You will need to review the safety and security conditions, vaccinations and other health requirements in China on your own. Visitors to Tibet are required to provide a medical certificate stating that they are in normal physical condition and can adapt to the effects of high altitude.
If you would like us to provide you with a health aid, such as a wheelchair, please let us know by email in advance and get what services are available for you and how much they will cost. However, we cannot guarantee that wheelchair assistance or accessibility is available in all locations in China.
You are responsible for any risks, accidents or consequences that occur during your trip. We strongly recommend that you purchase medical insurance and travel insurance prior to your trip.
According to the regulations of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), the free checked baggage allowance in China is 40 kg (88 pounds) for passengers holding an adult or child first class ticket, 30 kg (66 pounds) for passengers holding an adult or child business class ticket, 20 kg (44 pounds) for passengers holding an adult or child economy class ticket; the free checked baggage allowance for passengers holding an infant ticket is 10 kg (22 pounds). Excess baggage charges are paid by the passenger.
But the checked baggage allowance will update with or without notice to anyone.
First Class and Business Class passengers are allowed two carry-on items. Each economy class passenger is allowed one carry-on item. Please refer to the baggage requirements of each airline for the weight of carry-on baggage.
All suitcases are required to be fitted with a lock according to Chinese regulations. Failure to comply with the regulations may result in the refusal to load the baggage onto the aircraft.
If case of any unsatisfactory issue during your trip, please inform the relevant party-airlines, hotels, guides, etc. immediately so that they can endeavor to put things right. If the issue cannot be solved, please contact our office so that we are given an opportunity to help. In the unlikely event that a complaint cannot be resolved after you contacting our team or if compensation is required, your official email, regular mail, or facsimile will be needed with relevant receipts and substantiating evidence attached within 10 days from the end of your tour. China Tour Star will not be held liable for any claims made later than 10 days after the completion of your tour.
China Tour Star is not responsible for the loss of any customer’s personal property due to his or her negligence. We will not be responsible for any loss resulted from force majeure, like extreme weather, natural disasters, civil disturbances, political reasons, strikes, terrorist activities, etc.
China Tour Star reserves the right to modify or rescind the above terms and conditions in a whole, with or without notice.
