The whole park is divided into a self-driving area and a walking area. The former area is home to wild animals and the latter one is available for people to watch many valuable animals.
In 1997, the Chimelong Safari Park opened and obtained a record of “8,000 tourists within one day”.
In 2005, the Chimelong Safari Park was listed as a 5A scenic spot and became a must-visit attraction in Guangzhou.
This is the largest panda home base in the south of China and ten adorable and chubby giant pandas live here, among which six pandas ever took part in Asian Games 2010 in Guangzhou.
This park, built in the Year of Snake (2014), is the largest ecological park themed with snakes. Tourists can watch over 300 endangered snakes in the jungles through the dome window via multi-media. This fresh watching-experience will leave you a new image of these snakes.
The white tiger is the “Treasure of the Park” and the mascot of Chimelong and the Chimelong Safari Park. The White Tiger Hill houses more than 150 white tigers, the largest number of its kind. Except for white tigers, South China tigers, golden tigers, Bengal tigers, the Siberian tigers also live here. In consideration of the differences in living habits among these treasurable tigers, the park designs habitats suitable for each category.
On August 12, 2014, giant panda triplets were born in the safari park. The triplets, a miracle indeed across the world, are the longest surviving panda triplets. The triplets’ names are Mengmeng (means “adorable”), Shuaishuai (means “handsome”), and Kuku (means “cool”).
