Day 1 Dalian
Pick you up from your hotel. Xinghai Square, City Sculptures, Lotus Mountain Observation Deck. Drive you back to your hotel

This day we will pick you up from your hotel to go and visit Xinghai Square. Your short Dalian trip will begin there. Xinghai Square is an open-air plaza in the southwest of Dalian. It was specially constructed to commemorate the return of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to China. It is also one of the landmark buildings of Dalian. The central star-shaped plaza is a circular plaza with three steps above the ground; the layout of the central part draws on the design concept of the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. The center of the red marble is decorated with a large yellow five-pointed star, which forms a kind of star-sea cross-reflecting scene with the yellow sea to the north of Xinghai Square, which is used to symbolize the “Xinghai Bay”. The center of the square is equipped with a musical fountain. When you watch it at night, the lights next to the fountain will light up with water mist and music, as if you are watching fireworks on the ground. Every summer a large beer festival is held here when the entire square becomes a carnival resort, and it is very lively.

The City Sculptures were built in 1999 on the southern coast of Xinghai Square to commemorate the centenary of Dalian’s establishment. The three-dimensional sculpture occupies an extremely wide area, and it is like a large open book spread out on the coast. The bronze sculptures of people from all fields are like walking with relief from north to south. After connecting the main body of the same city sculpture, it stretches out in front of the sculpture composed of two children. The children face the vast and boundless sea with their fingers pointing far away. The design of the entire sculpture is novel, imaginative, and profound in meaning, making viewers stop and imagine. The sculpture breaks the conventional vertical sculpture technique and creates the first domestic horizontal sculpture to be laid flat on the coast.

Lotus Mountain Observation Deck stands on the coast and is the best site to enjoy the scenery of Dalian. Looking at the northeast, you can see Dalian Port, Dalian Bay, and Jinzhou Bay; overlooking the southwest, you can have a panoramic view of the Xinghai Bay; looking at the southeast, the Fujiazhuang Seashore and the sea-crossing bridge are visible; looking ahead, the coastal roads meander from east to west and scattered islands in the sea. The Seagod Empress stands quietly in the Yellow Sea, blessing the weather to be smooth and all wishes come true. This is the best place to ascend and pray for loved ones in the romantic city of Dalian.

The starting point of the Lotus Mountain Observation Deck is the four-pillar dome-shaped welcoming pavilion, which is meant to welcome guests from all over the world. The promenade is built on the mountain, with light coming in and shadow leaning, you can appreciate different scenes when walking; the wishing platform provides you with an area for hanging pray locks. The viewing hall tower has a cone-shaped appearance, and the main building has three floors. The ground floor is an open hall supported by 8 columns, the second floor is a closed garden hall, and the third floor is an open-air platform equipped with Dalian’s No. 1 Future Mailbox. After all the visits, our guide will drive you back to your hotel.

Your Dalian short tour will end here. We thank you and look forward to your next tour with us!
