As the ears of the two lions are drooping. The Qianqing Gate separates the inner court and outer court. After lunch, we will go to the Summer Palace. It was a royal garden during the Qing Dynasty(1636-1912). It is situated in the western suburbs of Beijing, covering an area of 2.97 square kilometers. It is one of the best-preserved royal palaces. The Summer Palace mainly consists of two parts: Wanshou Mountain and Kunming Lake. The representative buildings in it include the Foxiang Pavilion, the Long Corridor, the Suzhou Street, the Seventeen-arch Bridge and the Grand Opera House. Among those buildings, the Long Corridor is 728 meters long and has 273 sections decorated with more than 14,000 colorful paintings. These paintings have different themes, such as figures, landscapes, flowers and birds, which show you a vivid and three-dimensional effect.
