Yangshuo Bike Tour

Our guide will pick you up at the hotel in the morning, and then we will visit Yangshuo West Street. As the oldest street in Yangshuo County, Yangshuo West Street has a history of over 300 years. It faces the Li River on the east with a mountain on the west. Paved with marbles, the street is about 8 meters wide and 800 meters long. On both sides of the street, there are brick houses with white walls and gray tiles. Many of those houses were left over from the Qing Dynasty (1636-1912). Although the street is not very long, it is still the most popular and busiest street in Yangshuo. Walking on the street, you will see various local snacks and handicrafts. Besides, people also call this street “foreigner’s street”, because many foreigners live here, and each year many foreigners will visit here. When you stroll on this street, you will find that the shop signs of almost every store and restaurant are designed in both Chinese and English. Furthermore, the staff in many stores and restaurants can speak fluent English. In addition to the staff, lots of local residents can also speak English.

After leaving Yangshuo West Street, we will go to the Ten Miles Gallery and enjoy our Yangshuo Bike Tour. Ten Miles Gallery is a road with beautiful scenery on both sides. Along the way, there are large areas of farmland, water lily pools, and lavender fields. It is definitely a perfect bike route for cycling enthusiasts. No matter when you come here, you will have a wonderful tour experience with fabulous scenery. For example, in spring, there are new buds growing up from the earth, and all the trees get new leaves. In autumn, the trees will turn bright yellow and the leaves will fall like flying butterflies. At the same time, you may see the trees are heavy with fruits. When visitors come to Yangshuo, the Ten Miles Gallery is the place that they must go, because even a random picture they took with the phone is very pretty.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               

The best way to visit it is to ride a bike. Different kinds of rental bikes are easily available, many observation decks and rest areas are offered. More importantly, riding a bike to the Ten Miles Gallery, you will discover the hidden beauty along the way. In the Ten Miles Gallery, you cannot miss the beautiful Yulong River. The clear Yulong River reflects the images of old houses, lush mountains, and trees along the river banks, which looks like a charming Chinese landscape painting.  

Another attraction you cannot miss is the big banyan tree in the Big Banyan Tree Scenic Area. This tree is regarded as a sacred tree. It was planted as early as the Sui Dynasty (581-618). At present, the ancient banyan tree is 17 meters high with a perimeter of over 7 meters. Its branches are gnarled and twisted. These branches spread themselves to all directions, which looks like a super-huge open umbrella from a distance.

Except for that, the banyan tree is also the place where a moving love story happened. According to the legend, Liu Sanjie is a famous singer of the Zhuang minority. She is very smart and beautiful. At the age of 17, she met a handsome young man named Aniu who is also a singer. They often sang the duet under the banyan tree and gradually fell in love with each other. However, there was a bully in the village who also liked Liu Sanjie. He was very jealous when he found that Liu Sanjie loved Aniu, so he decided to separate them. One night, Liu Sanjie was sitting with Aniu by the river not far from the banyan tree. The bully came to them with many people carrying the torches. Liu Sanjie and Aniu looked at those menacing people, they knew they were in a dangerous situation and there was no way out. More importantly, they could not abandon each other. So they held hands firmly and looked at the turbulent river. To protect their love, they jumped into the river together. This story is the embodiment of forever love.

The last attraction you will pass is Moon Hill. On the top of the Moon Hill, there is a huge penetrable hole in one peak of the hill. Seen from the distance, this hole seems like a big moon. For the hole, this hill is called Moon Hill. Besides, on the hill, lush trees are planted, which makes the hill vivifying. After finishing the Yangshuo Bike Tour, we will escort you back to the hotel.
